A Palm Springs Adventure Club gift covers one trail day for the group size chosen when the gift was bought: the booking fee and a gear kit for each person in that group. Palm Springs sales tax is not part of the gift. It is calculated and added when the gift is used. The refundable gear deposit that every trail day requires is also separate.
If the group turns out to be larger than the gift covers, extra gear kits can be added at booking for the usual per-person price. If the group is smaller, the part of the gift for the people who are not coming is not refunded and does not carry over.
Gifts do not expire, and we never charge dormancy, service, or other fees against a gift. If a gift ever shows a remaining balance of less than $15, you can ask us to pay that balance in cash.
The person receiving the gift enters its code at the payment step of Start My Adventure, or follows the link in their gift email. A gift is used once, for one booking, and one gift can be applied to a booking. It can be used for any trail day we have open.
The person receiving the gift completes the same steps as any guest: the waiver, and a card on file for the refundable gear deposit. A gift code works for whoever holds it, so keep it as carefully as you would cash. If a code is lost, the person who gave the gift can ask us to resend it from the email address used to buy it.
We do not charge sales tax when a gift is bought. Sales tax applies when the gift is used, and it is figured on the full price of the trail day at the Palm Springs rate in effect on the day of booking. The person using the gift pays that tax at booking.
A gift is used up when a booking is made with it. If that booking is later cancelled, the gift is not restored. Anything paid on top of the gift, such as sales tax or extra gear kits, is handled under our Cancellation & Refund Policy. Rescheduling a booking made with a gift works the same as for any other booking.
If Palm Springs Adventure Club ever decides to stop operating, we will email the person who gave each unused gift and the person who received it at least 60 days before we close. During that time the gift can still be used for a trail day. Gifts still unused when we close will be refunded to the person who bought them, in the amount they paid, by the method we reasonably can.
A gift is not refundable once it has been delivered, except as described in section 6 and where California law requires it. If a payment for a gift fails or is reversed, we may cancel the gift.
